Archery Class
More experienced archers who have demonstrated skills beyond beginning aptitude join the Intermediate Archery Class.
The Intermediate Archery Class focuses on learning more advanced archery techniques than the basics and introducing competition level techniques. The Beginner Archery Class is provided by our head coach who is a USA Archery Certified instructor.
Pre-requisite for applying:
Must have completed the Beginner Archery Class;
Must be able to demonstrate they are able to execute the basics of proper archery form correctly and consistently.
Intermediate Archery Class will be held in the 2nd and 4th quarter of 2021. (Dates will be announced soon!)
Each session has a duration of 1 hour and 30 minutes and each class runs for 8 weeks, with a start and end date. Students are expected to arrive 15 minutes before class for warm-up sessions.
We use a 8-week curriculum that covers the major topics for the National Training System Form. These topics are the major steps in the form that will be focused on during the first 6 weeks.
The 7th week will pull all that you have learned together. The 8th class will be a competition where you will receive a certificate of completion at the end of the course.
Week 1 - Review of Posture & Stance, Load Arrow, Grip & Hook, Mindset
Week 2 - Set-up (Coiling & Lift), Extra Set
Week 3 - Draw (Angular Motion), Load, Anchor and Transfer into Holding
Week 4 - Rhythm of Load, Anchor and Transfer
Week 5 - Expansion, Aiming
Week 6 - Review String Release, Introduce Bow Release, Follow-through
Week 7 - General Review of the Shot Cycle
Week 8 - Can You Shoot It & Certificate if completion
As an Intermediate Archer, you have discovered that archery takes practice and study to advance. Archers who wish to continue on their lifetime journey towards perfecting their form and who have demonstrated above Intermediate aptitude may join Olympia Curaçao Archery Association for advanced training, either recreational or competitively.
The fees for the Intermediate Archery Class is 275 guilders per person for the entire 8 week class and includes all the necessary equipment you will need to follow the course (bow, arrows, quiver, arm guard).

Archery is a lifetime sport and there is always more to learn! After completing the Beginner curriculum and showing Intermediate aptitude, students are encouraged to sign up for the Intermediate Archery Class.
